MILAN/PARIS: Atlantyca Entertainment and Moonscoop have secured a string of deals for the animated series Geronimo Stilton, with broadcasters such as TV2 Norway and MTV3 in Finland.

Nickelodeon Northern Europe also picked up the rights for the 26×22-minute series, for Belgium, the Netherlands, Denmark, Sweden, Norway and Finland. In Iberian markets, Cartoon Network, Boomerang and Boing are set to air the series in Spain. Sales have also been concluded with RTP and Canal Panda in Portugal.

Based on the popular children’s book series of the same name, Geronimo Stilton will debut on Nickelodeon channels as early as this month in Belgium and the Netherlands, with additional rollout in November in Denmark and Sweden. The series presold to Radio Canada, Rai in Italy and M6 in France.

“It is truly exciting to be coming to MIPCOM with such an impressive lineup of Western European broadcasters who recognize the worldwide appeal of the adventurous Geronimo Stilton character,” said Atlantyca Entertainment’s sales manager, Luana Perrero.

Marie Conge, the senior VP of international sales and CPG, added: “The combination of animated series, books and toys is a winning combination for buyers, as these deals show, and our strategy is to build the global presence of the character across these three areas.”
