Galleon, Sony BMG to Launch Multiplatform Property

LONDON, October 9: The British outfit Galleon Entertainment
is working with Sony BMG Music Entertainment (U.K.) to develop and launch a
multi-platform global entertainment property, Apollo's Pad.

Slated for a summer 2007 launch, the property fuses music
downloads and animated comedy and can be broadcast online, on mobile and on TV.
Galleon will be responsible for managing the project through production,
broadcast as well as licensing and merchandising. Sony BMG will manage music production, rights clearance and
exploitation through digital and retail sales of music content. Initially each
company will retain ownership of its own intellectual property but under the
terms of the agreement, Sony BMG has the option to acquire for cash a minority
equity stake in the project.

As part of the launch of the property, 52×5-minute animated
comedy episodes will be produced, including a music track in each episode. The
episodes are set in an animated music venue called Apollo’s Pad where each
character is the personification of a music genre.
