FremantleMedia Takes on Blueprint Titles

LONDON, February 27: FremantleMedia Enterprises (FME) has
acquired the rights to two new drama series from Toronto- and Los Angeles-based
production outfit Blueprint Entertainment: Love You To Death and The Best Years, both of which will be launched at MIPTV.

The 13×30-minute Love You To Death stars John Waters (director of Pink
Flamingos, Hairspray, Cry-Baby
) in his
television series debut as the “Groom Reaper,” recounting inspired-by-reality
tales of individuals who killed their spouses. The show is slated to launch on
Court TV in the U.S. this spring as 'Til Death Do Us Part and on Global Television in Canada. At MIPTV, FME
will be representing the TV rights, excluding North America, and the DVD
rights, outside of Canada.

The 13×1-hour The Best Years is produced by Blueprint in association with Global in Canada and
Viacom’s The N in the U.S. It follows the ups and downs of a group of friends
in their freshman year of college. The show is created and executive produced
by Aaron Martin, writer and showrunner on the hit Canadian teen series Degrassi:
The Next Generation. The Best Years
will
premiere this summer in the U.S. and Canada. FME has worldwide distribution
rights for both TV (excluding North America) and DVD (excluding Canada).

David Ellender, the CEO of FremantleMedia Enterprises,
commented: “We are delighted to add these two unique dramas from Blueprint
Entertainment to our burgeoning portfolio of fine scripted entertainment, which
we are committed to expanding further throughout 2007. We are thrilled to be
launching both Love You To Death and The
Best Years
at MIPTV, giving broadcasters
from around the world the chance to be the first on board with what will be
very highly-prized additions to any schedule line-up for 2007.”
