FremantleMedia Showcases Diverse Format Slate

LONDON, April 13: At
MIPTV, FremantleMedia will debut the Asian-themed reality entertainment format Lost in Tokyo and the reality
charity shopping format Wives’ and Girlfriends’ Boutique, alongside hit
formats such as Got Talent and Thank God You’re Here.

Lost in Tokyo is a “culture-clash” game show filmed in Tokyo,
Japan, in which Western contestants struggle to make sense of Japanese customs, with
each episode culminating in the elimination of a contestant by a jury of 100
Tokyo locals. In the reality format Wives’ and Girlfriends’ Boutique, which is currently airing on ITV2 in the U.K. the other halves
of famous soccer players compete to
turn their passion for fashion into profit for their favorite charity.

FremantleMedia will also
offer the daily German drama All or Nothing, which chronicles the story of a talented figure
skater. Continuing its long tradition in game shows, the company will also be
bringing Supermarket Sweep, a
series in which players compete for a chance to take part in a final
trolley dash for thousands of pounds. FremantleMedia will also head to MIPTV
with the singing talent search format Can you Duet?, and the hit
talent search format Got Talent, which has already broadcast
in the U.S. and France, with major
productions in progress in 12 other markets that include the U.K., Germany and
Australia.

The comedy format Thank
God You’re Here,
which has been
licensed into over a dozen territories since it was first unveiled at MIPTV in
2006, will also be offered at
the market again this year. The format, which is filmed in front of a live
audience, brings together a group of celebrities whose improvisation skills are
tested when they must ad-lib their way through an unknown situation.

Rob Clark, the senior EVP of entertainment and production of worldwide
entertainment for FremantleMedia, commented: “I’m really excited by this year’s
MIP. We have a terrific slate featuring both exciting, fresh new formats and
incredibly successful shows that have travelled the world. I think we are
providing an offering for everyone’s schedule.”
