FremantleMedia in Online Game-Show Partnership

LONDON: FremantleMedia and British daily The Sun are launching a new venture to bring a live, interactive game show to the newspaper’s website later this year.

Sun Quiz Live will enable users to play against one another in real time, and interact with the presenter, crew and fellow players. The concept was developed by FremantleMedia’s Participation Media team. Broadcast daily on thesun.co.uk., Sun Quiz Live will offer a variety of word, number and logic puzzles, each just a few minutes in length. The show will initially be scheduled 2 hours per day, 5 days per week, and is slated for launch this summer.

Peter Cassidy, the VP Participation Media at FremantleMedia, said, "Sun Quiz Live draws directly on our expertise in game show production and interactive games. It combines live video with multiplayer puzzles to create a new entertainment experience–a game show where the viewers are the contestants. We’re excited to be working with a partner with the reach and brand power of The Sun, and look forward to giving their readers the chance to watch and play Sun Quiz Live."

Pete Picton, The Sun‘s online editor, added: "We are always looking for new ways to engage and entertain our readers, and Sun Quiz Live will do both. The site is going from strength to strength, and bringing a live game-show experience to our audience will enrich it still further. FremantleMedia have a great track record in content production, and we’re delighted to be partnering with them."
