LOS ANGELES: The series Scream Queens and Empire (season two) are set for simultaneous international releases in all of FOX International Channels' (FIC) licensed markets within 24 hours of their U.S. debuts on FOX.

Outside of the U.S., the comedy/horror anthology series Scream Queens will launch on September 23, while the sophomore season of the drama Empire will debut internationally on September 24. The global day-and-date release model is a staple FOX rollout strategy that was used to launch the first season of The Walking Dead. FOX is available as a linear channel and nonlinear offering in more than 340 million homes across the U.S., as well as in international TV markets.

Hernan Lopez, the president and CEO of FIC, stated: “Hollywood is waking up to how instrumental it is to harness the collective voices of outspoken international fans, especially for watercooler shows like Empire and Scream Queens. We can’t wait to roll out these incredibly exciting series to fans around the world. The viewers we serve every day are driving the success of a show in its premiere window, and all the way through its lifecycle.”
