Formula One Returns to the BBC

LONDON, March 20: BBC Sport has inked a
five-year deal with Formula One Administration for the exclusive rights to TV,
radio, broadband and mobile coverage of Formula One (F1) races.

The deal begins in 2009 and continues until
2013.

“F1 is a crown jewel of sports broadcasting,
so to bring the rights back to their traditional home from 2009 is tremendously
exciting,” said Dominic Coles, BBC Sport’s director of sports rights.
"Fans will be able to enjoy uninterrupted, state-of-the-art and innovative
coverage from BBC Sport, across all of our TV, radio and new-media platforms,
for the first time since 1996."
