Former Spanish President Joins News Corp. Board

LONDON/NEW YORK, June 22: José
María Aznar, the president of Spain from 1996 to 2004, has joined News
Corporation’s board of directors.

The addition of Aznar
increases the number of directors to 14. News Corporation Chairman and CEO
Rupert Murdoch said of the appointment, “As President of Spain, Mr. Aznar
earned worldwide respect for his strong economic record and unflinching stand
against domestic and international terrorism. His impressive grasp of world
politics and the realities of globalization, as well as his clear commitment to
