Former HBO Exec Chris Albrecht to Head IMG’s Global Media Business

NEW YORK, September 17: Chris
Albrecht, the former chairman and CEO of HBO, has resurfaced at IMG, where he
will head its global media business, and serve as a special limited partner at
IMG’s parent company Forstmann Little & Co., where he will raise a $250
million fund with Ted Forstmann for investments in media and entertainment
content.

Forstmann Little & Co.
purchased IMG in 2004. IMG's media and entertainment operations include content
production subsidiaries Darlow Smithson Productions, Tiger Aspect Productions
and Tigress. Globally, IMG produces and distributes more than 11,000 hours of
sports, documentary, drama, comedy, entertainment, popular factual and
children's content annually. IMG also represents the broadcast rights to many
of the world's premier sporting events and has the world's largest sports
archive with more than 250,000 hours of footage.

Forstmann said,
"Chris Albrecht is a visionary—not only one of television's greatest
creative minds, but also one of its most successful business executives—and
we are thrilled to have him join IMG. His credentials are unparalleled. He
dramatically increased revenues and profits at HBO while overseeing the
development and production of iconic shows such as The Sopranos, Sex and the City, Entourage, Six Feet Under, Deadwood, Band of Brothers, and The Wire. He also oversaw all of HBO's original programming and day-to-day
business operations, yielding scores of award-winning documentaries, films, and
sports and comedy programs. IMG already has a growing presence in the rapidly
evolving global media and entertainment markets and unparalleled international
distribution capabilities. Chris will be instrumental in taking IMG to a new
level based on his extensive background in creating, developing, distributing
and marketing entertainment content, as well as his strong relationships
throughout the entertainment community."

Albrecht added: "With
a proven strategy, great brand, unique resources and entrepreneurial
leadership, IMG is the ideal home for me. I'm looking forward to working side
by side with Ted Forstmann and IMG's talented team. Together, we can leverage
IMG's expertise, portfolio of assets, and established international content
distribution organization to capitalize on the enormous global opportunities in
traditional and digital media."

Albrecht spent more than
20 years at HBO, including a five-year stint as chairman and CEO. He stepped
down in May at the request of Time Warner after being arrested in Las Vegas for
allegedly assaulting his girlfriend.
