Former Disney Exec to Head Development, Acquisitions at guru

TORONTO, September 14:
guru studio, a Canadian animation production company, has appointed former
Disney executive Mary Bredin to head up development and acquisitions.

In her new role, Bredin
will focus on the development of new properties for film, TV, and Internet in
addition to managing acquisitions. Prior to joining guru studio, Bredin most
recently headed up the acquisitions team for Viasat in Sweden, where she
focused on its Eastern European TV channels. Prior to that, she spent eight
years in London, where she worked on programming and acquisitions for the
international Disney Channels. Bredin also spent four years in Paris at Canal+,
Telefilm Canada and PMMP.

Founded in 2000, guru
studio is an award-winning animation design and production company specializing
in characters for film and television. Its team of animators and directors has
worked with a roster of international advertisers, broadcasters and development
companies, including Hallmark Entertainment as well as Nelvana and Nick Jr. on
the current hit TV series The Backyardigans.
