Former CHUM Exec Resurfaces at Fluorescent Media

LONDON, October 10: Former
CHUM International sales executive Mike Lolato has joined Fluorescent Media to
set up the boutique production company’s new international distribution
division.

Lolato has been tapped as
head of global and sales and distribution at the company. He is based in
Toronto and will also run the company’s North American office. He joins a new
management team that also includes Romy Kraus, formerly at Sony Europe, as head
of product development and marketing, who will oversee the company’s portfolio
strategy and business development, as well as driving relationships with
agencies and advertisers. Marie-Claire Walton, who has previously worked at
Thames Television, Ardent and MEM.tv, takes on the post of head of development
and will manage Fluorescent Media’s multiplatform programming. Paul Judd joins
as executive producer and Kevin Lingley takes on the post of head of
information systems and technology.

The company offers a
combination of entertainment programming, user-generated content and
e-commerce. “The ultimate objective is to build an active and passionate
audience fan base around every show, establish direct viewer relationships and generate
new revenue streams,” says Carolyn Maze, the company’s managing director.

The company’s credits
include flagship interactive quiz format Quiz Nation, which airs as part of the daily
two-hour-programming block PlayMania on GSN in the U.S. “We see a great opportunity for continued growth
in the U.S. market and plan to take our successful formats further
internationally, particularly Central and Eastern Europe, as well as Asia and
South America,” says Maze.
