LONDON: Andy Bates’ Street Feasts, the Food Network UK’s first commissioned series, is to premiere September 26.

The 10×30-minute series, hosted by London chef Andy Bates aka “Pie Man,” will delve into the history of Britain’s famous dishes, giving them a street food interpretation. Sweet TV is producing the series.

Bates travels the U.K. finding traditional British recipes, such as Scotch eggs, chicken and ham Christmas pie, baked custard and black pudding and giving them a modern twist.

“For Food Network UK’s first commissioned series, it’s great that we are creating a series that celebrates traditional British food, and no one does British street food the way Andy Bates Does,” said Nick Thorogood, the managing director of Food Network EMEA. “Andy Bates’ Street Feasts will have audiences looking at their meals with new eyes and rethinking their usual recipes.”
