Flextech and UKTV Expand Advertiser-Funded Activity

LONDON, August 16: In
conjunction with the expansion of the companies’ advertiser-funded activities,
Flextech and UKTV have announced the promotion of Claire Heys to controller of
commercial partnerships and the appointment of Sally Quick as the head of
commercial partnerships.

As advertiser-funded
programming (AFP) grows in importance at Flextech and UKTV, Quick will play a
strategic role in the commissioning process. She joins Flextech from ITV, where
she served as head of commercial strategy and was later promoted to
commissioning editor of branded content and nighttime.

Quick reports to Heys, who
will continue to oversee all AFP deals across Flextech and UKTV. A new
production department has been set up, to be run by Heys and Gilly Archer,
controller of production. This division will look to fully exploit commercial
opportunities early in the rights negotiation process with independent
producers.
