Fireworks, Mondo Media Strike Multiplatform Deal for Animated Shorts

LONDON, August 7: Fireworks International has secured the
exclusive international rights outside of the U.S. to distribute more than 20
hours of comedic animated shorts from the digital entertainment company Mondo
Media.

Fireworks International has acquired the multiplatform
international rights outside of the U.S. to Mondo Media’s Mondo Mini Shows catalogue (including the Icebox catalogue), featuring a raft of offbeat comedy
programming, for distribution across broadcast, online, mobile, VOD, IPTV and
home video. Fireworks International and Mondo Media have also announced
carriage of Mondo Mini Shows and Happy
Tree Friends
as two channels on the
Internet TV platform Joost.

Short-form programming featured in the deal includes Thugs
on Film
consisting of 103 episodes of 3-5
minutes each; Heavy Metal Guy, 6
episodes of 3-5 minutes each; The God & The Devil Show, 54 episodes of 3-5 minutes each; Poker
Night
, 8 episodes of 3-5 minutes; Zombie College,
12 episodes of 3-5 minutes each; Starship Regulars, 10 episodes of
3-5 minutes each; and Absolute Zero, 32 episodes of 3-5 minutes each. In addition, the
collection features the Best of Mondo Mini Shows,
a collection of 26×22-minute shows packaged for linear television broadcast as
half hours or interstitials.
