Expanded Merchandise Planned for Star Trek

NEW YORK, June 11: CBS
Consumer Products has secured a host of new licensing partners to develop
merchandise for the Star Trek franchise,
including Mattel, Fortune Fashions and Pez.

Mattel has licensed the
worldwide rights to create a variety of branded products, including a line of Star
Trek
-themed Barbie Collector dolls,
Tyco radio-controlled flying vehicles, a Scene It? DVD game and a 20 Questions Star
Trek
trivia game.

Fortune Fashions will
showcase a line of tees featuring iconic Star Trek characters and phrases for the U.S. mid-tier and
mass-retail channels. Meanwhile, Pez will release its first Star Trek collection this fall.

Other new licensing
partners include Basic Fun for key chains, pens and bottle openers; DecoPac for
cake-decorating kits; Dreamlink for USB computer accessories; GIT for a digital
collection of all Star Trek comics
published through 2005; Armitron/E. Gluck Corporation for a line of watches;
IGPC creating collectible stamps; Les Chocolats Vadeboncoeur for Easter
chocolates; Northwest with a line of pillows and throws; Round Two for polar lights
and AMT plastic model kits; and Rubies with a range of costumes, masks and
accessories.
