LONDON: Exclusive Media has established a separate TV division, Exclusive Media Television (EMTV), and has already signed a global first-look development and distribution pact with FremantleMedia Enterprises (FME).

Simon Oakes, the vice chairman of Exclusive Media and president of Hammer Films, will be leading EMTV. The outfit already has a number of projects in development. FME gets the first look at all of EMTV’s commissioned programs to distribute globally.

Exclusive Media has already established itself as a major force in the film production and distribution industry. Among its projects is Ron Howard’s epic feature film Rush, which is currently in post-production.

Oakes commented, “I’ve long been an admirer of the FME business and when building our TV arm, working with David and the FME team was top of our list. Our aim at Exclusive Media Television with this partnership is to build a successful scripted television business alongside our existing feature film operation.”

David Ellender, the global CEO of FME, added, “Exclusive Media are successful players in the theatrical world which makes them ideally placed to get into the scripted television content market. They are instinctively international in their outlook and commercial in their ambition; we’re both looking to create world-class scripted projects so it’s a great partnership and we look forward to announcing our first projects together.”
