ESPN STAR Renews Wimbledon Rights

SINGAPORE: ESPN STAR Sports has extended its agreement with The All England Lawn Tennis & Croquet Club, scoring the exclusive cable and satellite, terrestrial and multimedia rights to the Wimbledon Championships from 2009-2014 in 24 markets across Asia.

ESS has been carrying some Wimbledon coverage in Asia in for the last 17 years. Under the terms of the new deal, the pan-regional sports broadcaster will deliver more than 70 hours of coverage annually, including day-long live action, daily highlights shows and live broadcast of the Men’s and Ladies’ Singles quarter-final, semi-final and final. The new deal covers terrestrial as well digital rights, covering online, mobile and radio. Viewers can watch games on www.espnstar.com and on mobileESPN. Viewers will also have access to the previous season’s best matches.
