ER Announces qubo Slot for Postman Pat

LONDON, March 28:
Entertainment Rights (ER) has announced that its top-rated BBC children’s
series Postman Pat will
premiere in the U.S. this fall as part of qubo, the multiplatform children’s service on NBC,
Telemundo and ION; and that production has begun on new episodes of the
animated comedy series 3-2-1 Penguins!, also scheduled for broadcast on qubo this fall.

Postman Pat is a long-running U.K. series that has now been
sold into over 100 countries, including the U.S., Japan, Germany, France,
Italy, Scandinavia and Australia. Set in the community of Greendale, each
storyline is full of fun, drama and unforgettable escapades as Postman Pat he
and his loveable sidekick, Jess the Cat, embark on endless adventures.

Jane Smith, the chief
commercial and creative director of Entertainment Rights, noted, “We are
delighted that Postman Pat will
premiere on qubo this autumn.
Millions of U.S. kids and families will now be introduced to a beloved series
that has been delighting international audiences for 25 years.”

In addition, ER and its
recently acquired subsidiary, Big Idea, announced that they have begun production on new 20×30-minute episodes
of the comedy series 3-2-1 Penguins! with co-producer India-based UTV, for broadcast on qubo this fall.

Currently the number-one rated
show on qubo, in which ER holds a minority stake through its recent acquisition
of Classic Media, 3-2-1 Penguins! will
also be presented to international buyers at this year’s MIPTV. Produced by Big
Idea, also the creators of the award-winning VeggieTales series, 3-2-1 Penguins! is targeted at 4-8-year-olds and follows the galactic adventures of two young kids and four
out-of-this-world penguins as they explore space, learning important life
lessons and values along the way.

Broadcast in both English
and Spanish, qubo initially
debuted in September 2006 as analog programming blocks on NBC, ION Television
and Telemundo, and now reaches over 100 million American homes. qubo also
recently launched a 24-hour digital broadcast channel on ION Media Networks
station group and a branded website.
