LOS ANGELES/TORONTO: Entertainment One (eOne) has signed a multiyear output deal with YouTube musical group Cimorelli aimed at creating and distributing original multiplatform content.

The group, which is made up of six sisters from Malibu, has garnered 700 million views and 3 million subscribers on YouTube. They’re signed with Universal Music Group, and their YouTube channel is part of and will remain with the AwesomenessTV network.

The new partnership already has a number of scripted and non-scripted projects in development. eOne will produce and handle worldwide distribution for all projects resulting from the deal. Jesse Albert brokered the agreement for eOne with Tony Novia for Cimorelli, who will both serve as executive producers on all projects that fall under the partnership, along with Lynne Cimorelli. Albert and eOne’s Jeff Lynas will oversee the relationship for the studio.

“With nearly a billion views and an enormous fan base around the world, the Cimorelli sisters have created a strong wholesome brand for themselves in the digital youth programming space,” said John Morayniss, eOne Television’s CEO. “Bringing our expertise in film and television, eOne is dedicated to partnerships with top creative talent and to producing first-rate programming for all platforms. This relationship allows us to align eOne’s global strength to extend Cimorelli’s celebrity to film and television, as well as further enhance their digital efforts.”

“We are excited to work with eOne and take what we’ve built on YouTube and extend it into film and television,” said Cimorelli. “eOne has an amazing team and we look forward to diving into a variety of new and exciting projects.”
