TORONTO/LOS ANGELES/LONDON: Benedict Carver has been made the senior VP of filmed entertainment at Entertainment One (eOne).

Carver will report to Noreen Halpern, the president of dramatic programming at Entertainment One Television, and Lara Thompson the senior VP of worldwide acquisitions. Carver will identify strategic opportunities, properties and partnerships for both the eOne television and eOne film groups. He will also look for branded properties such as books, graphic novels and videogames, for eOne to develop as TV shows. Prior to joining eOne, Carver was a partner at Dark Hero Studios, which he co-founded in 2009, establishing a first-look television deal with eOne in March 2010.

“Benedict has a knack for bringing the right talent together. We’re thrilled to have him on board as eOne’s television division increasingly becomes a preferred production partner and gains momentum with US broadcasters,” Halpern said.

“Benedict has a uniquely broad background and expertise in the industry and I’m delighted that he has joined our team. From his days at Variety and his many successful endeavors in the past few years, Benedict has an invaluable knowledge of the international film market and the major players,” Thompson said.
