Entertainment Rights Secures BBC Deal for Finley the Fire Engine

LONDON, July 19: In a five-year multiplatform deal,
Entertainment Rights has licensed the new preschool CGI-animated series Finley
The Fire Engine
to the BBC for broadcast
across linear television networks, online and digital radio, beginning July 23.

Produced by RHI Entertainment, Finley The Fire Engine will be broadcast on the CBeebies channel and in the
CZeebies zones on BBC Two. It will also appear on the CBeebies website and on
CBeebies digital radio broadcasts. Entertainment Rights acquired the
international rights to the property in October 2006, and has since sold the
series to over 90 territories.

Set in the world of Friendlyville, the 78×11-minute CGI
series follows a bright red fire engine named Finley who is a kid at heart.
Finley, with the help of other everyday working vehicles, tackles issues such
as sibling rivalry, the care of pets, safety during playtime and sports and the
importance of physical fitness, among other themes.

Jane Smith, the chief commercial and creative director of
Entertainment Rights, commented: “The show embraces children’s limitless fascination
with vehicles and encourages friendship, optimism, the value of community and
enthusiastically highlights universal life skills and teaches safety for
preschoolers.”
