Endemol Secures New Format Deals

HILVERSUM, April 30: Endemol International is hailing this
year’s MIPTV as one of its most successful markets to-date, with new deals in
Europe, Africa and Asia for formats ranging from the long-running Big
Brother
to newer game shows such as 1
vs. 100
and Deal or No Deal.

In a new deal with M-net, Big Brother returns for a second pan-African broadcast this
August. The first pan-African series ran on M-net in 2003. Endemol South Africa
will once again produce the series for M-net. Meanwhile, in Serbia, Big
Brother
has also been re-commissioned for a
second run by B92, along with a first season of Big Brother VIPs, which will be broadcast later this year.

Endemol has also licensed the reality show Operation
Triunfo
to New TV in Ukraine for premiere
this fall. In Romania, TVR has snapped up its first season of Restoration for broadcast in October, while AVRO in the
Netherlands has acquired a second run of the series following its success
earlier this year.

Endemol’s hit game show format 1 vs. 100 also continues its worldwide rollout. Following the
success of the spin-off kids’ version on NBC in the USA, 1 vs. The
Kids
has been snapped up by TV2 in Hungary
and Nova in Bulgaria. In further new deals for the series, the standard version
of 1 vs. 100 will launch this May
on KBS in Korea and on Cine 5 in Turkey. The format has also been licensed to
Pink TV in Serbia, where it will be produced by Emotion Productions. Emotion
Productions will also produce the Serbian version of Deal Or No Deal, which has been sold to B92 and will be broadcast as
a daily stripped show.

Antenna in Greece has picked up 26 episodes of Show Me
the Money
for broadcast in early 2008,
while TV7 in Bulgaria has acquired over 200 daily episodes the series. Antenna
has also snapped up Endemol’s Latin American game show hit Last
Passenger
, which is scheduled for a
13-episode run this fall.

VTV in Vietnam has acquired Take it or Leave it—the game show format that Endemol licensed
from Intellygents last year—for broadcast this fall. In Russia, The
Power of Hypnosis
has been sold to TNT and
will be produced by Endemol Moscow.

Annelies Noest, Endemol International’s director of sales,
commented: “MIPTV 2007 has been
one of our most fruitful markets so far. These deals cover a wide variety of
formats and underline the continuing global demand for these kinds of shows.”
