Endemol Inks MTV Deal

HILVERSUM, October 2: Endemol International has reached a
deal with MTV in the U.S. for its high-tech dating show Exposed, which uses Layered Voice Analysis (LVA) to
determine if someone is lying on a first date.

The format sees rival suitors competing to win the
affections of one person on a joint date. What they don’t know is that the
object of their affections is wearing a secret earpiece and getting feedback
from a best friend who is monitoring them with cameras and LVA software. At the
end of the date, the suitors are given the chance to come clean.

Exposed was created by Endemol USA and will run for a minimum of 20
half-hour episodes. It is expected to launch early next year.

Ed Louwerse, Endemol’s director of international sales,
noted, “Exposed has obvious worldwide
potential and will be an important part of our line up for MIPCOM. LVA
technology is more powerful and accurate than any conventional lie detector
test and we’re going to use it to create some jaw dropping TV moments.”

Endemol has also incorporated LVA technology into several
other formats. These include True History,
developed for The History Channel by Endemol’s New York based company, True
Entertainment.
