LONDON: Eden has acquired new natural-history content for its 2012 lineup, including Earth Touch, The Land That Time Forgot and Yunnan Island with Nigel Marven.

Eden picked up Australia: The Time Traveller’s Guide, the story of Australia, the oldest stable land on Earth. It is hosted by marine biologist Richard Smith and explains how the continent came to be the way it is.

Hainan Adventure with Nigel Marven and Yunnan Adventure with Nigel Marven are co-produced with Marven’s production company, Image Impact. In Hainan Adventure, Marvel looks explores China’s only tropical province and tracks down rare animals. In Yunnan Adventure, Marven spends a year exploring the province in search of endangered species.

Emma Sparks, UKTV’s acquisitions executive for factual, said: ”We have recently ramped up Eden’s co-production/pre-sale slate which means that we can focus on content that really has Eden at it’s heart. These are all amazing shows bringing exclusive blue-chip natural history to the channel.”
