LOS ANGELES/TORONTO: E1 Entertainment is teaming up with Tijuana Entertainment and the L.A. Lakers’ basketball star Ron Artest to develop and produce a new reality series, They Call Me Crazy.

Artest will be the focus of the new series, as he is given a chance to make amends for past transgressions and also help develop aspiring artists through his hip-hop label, Tru Warier, which will be supported by E1 Music. Serving as executive producers for the reality series are Artest with Tru Warier Enterprises, E1 Entertainment’s John Morayniss and Tara Long along with Tijuana’s Troy Searer and John Foy.

“E1 is excited to be part of this series as it promises unprecedented access to one of the most provocative athletes in the world,” commented Tara Long, the VP of alternative programming for E1 Television. “This is a unique reality series that will take viewers on an intimate journey with Ron beyond his explosive, on-court persona and into his dynamic, unpredictable world.”

"I’m really excited to have the opportunity to invite people into my world to see the real me, and show them there are many more sides to the Ron Artest they see on the basketball court,” added Artest. “This show will allow me to share my experiences with others, and hopefully people can learn from the mistakes I’ve made."
