DQE Signs Disney Deal on Jungle Book

HYDERABAD: DQ Entertainment International (DQE) has struck a deal for its new 3-D series The Jungle Book to air on Disney channels in 29 countries across the Indian Sub-Continent and Southeast Asia.

The deal provides the exclusive broadcast rights for territories such as South Korea, Hong Kong and Japan. The series tells the stories of Mowgli the man-cub, who is raised in the Indian jungles by a pack of wolves. Mowgli enjoys adventures, and is helped by Baloo, a wise bear; Bagheera, the black panther; and sometimes Kaa, the rock python. Production partners include ZDF Enterprises and ZDF Broadcasting, ABC of Australia, NBC Universal as well as broadcasting and licensing majors TF1 Group and Moonscoop.
