Distraction Ramps Up Offerings for MIPTV

MONTREAL, March 31:
Distraction has added another scripted format and two prime-time entertainment
offerings to its slate for MIPTV.

The scripted comedy Miss
Meteo
follows the life of a
40-year-old weather girl named Myriam who is going through a number of
professional and life changes. The show has just been renewed for a second
season in Canada on Series Plus.

Distraction will also
debut two prime-time entertainment formats: Jack of All Trades and Rock the Star. Jack of All Trades, which has just been given a third-season order by
Australia’s Nine Network, is a reality format that pits real tradesmen against
each other in a number of profession-related challenges. Rock the Star has just been re-upped for a third season by
Canada’s SRC. The large-scale variety program sees three well-known
personalities transformed into singers for the duration of one song. They will
first receive training from a team of experts and a pop star, then, after the
celebrities perform, viewers can go online and vote to determine who goes
through to the grand finale.
