Distraction Brings Italian Game Show Format to NATPE

MONTREAL,
January 12: Distraction is launching the Mediaset game show format Guess
Who?
, broadcast on Canale 5, at NATPE next week.

The
brainchild of Antonio Ricci, Guess Who? has already been picked up Spain’s Telecinco. The format combines
contestants and celebrities in a half talent show and half game show where five
participants must guess the identity of a hidden personality before their
chances run out.

“This format appealed to
us because it is an original take on the talent-oriented game show genre,” said
Nina Richardson, the acquisitions manager at Distraction. “Famous
personalities, a talent contest, guess work and the appeal of the cash prize
make this an easy-to-produce and highly entertaining format. The stripped daily
scheduling of Guess Who? in
Italy shows just what a huge prime-time format it is.”

Distraction represents Mediaset’s
format catalogue in many territories and has seen success with Ugly Duckling, Just Like Sisters, Poles Apart and Ciao Darwin, which has recently been signed
into Serbia and Greece.
