LONDON/HONG KONG: Audiences in a number of international territories will be able to watch the series finale of Lost this weekend at the same time as the show airs on the U.S. West Coast.

In addition, several other markets will have the episode within 24 and 48 hours of its North American airing.

The highly anticipated series finale of Lost is set to air at 9 p.m. on ABC in the U.S. on Sunday night. Simultaneous with the U.S. West Coast airing, the two-and-a-half hour episode (without subtitles), will broadcast on Fox Italia and Telecom Italia in Italy, Cuatro Spain, Fox Spain and Portugal, Digiturk Turkey, HOT Israel and CTV Canada. Sky1 in the U.K. will also deliver a simulcast of the West Coast broadcast.

In total, 59 worldwide markets will air the show within 24 to 48 hours after the U.S. airing, with subtitles for viewers in non-English-speaking territories. The broadcasters include Belgacom in Belgium, Canal Plus Poland, Deutsche Telekom in Germany, ‘N’ Poland, Orbit Showtime in the Middle East, RTE in Ireland, SBS Netherlands, Seven Network in Australia, SingTel’s mioTV in Singapore and TF1. Disney Media Distribution has "Hot from the U.S." agreements with these platforms to deliver some its current hit series in a 1- to 2-day window from the original telecast.

Lost’s intrinsic global appeal and enthusiastic international following have driven a demand to create innovative windowing opportunities to air the programming on earlier and more convenient platforms," said Ben Pyne, the president of global distribution at Disney Media Networks. "Since the show’s first season, we have greatly accelerated all of our U.S. network series’ international delivery, broadcast and marketing, and so it’s fitting that many international fans will be able to enjoy its spectacular finale in concert with its U.S. broadcast.”

Since its premiere in 2004, Lost has been licensed to over 220 international territories by Disney Media Distribution.
