Disney Channel U.K. Commissions HSM-Based Production

LONDON: Disney Channel UK has commissioned a new local production, set to air this November, based on the hit global franchise High School Musical.

The Foundation will produce Club High School Musical: Make It Happen, a 4×15-minute series that will follow the story of four devoted High School Musical fans as they work to create one of the biggest High School Musical dance events ever in just four days. Presented by Kevin Adams (former Fame Academy choreographer and star of GMTV), the show will follow the journeys of the kids in the build up to the final performance.

Jonathan Boseley, the VP of programming at Disney Channels UK & Ireland, commented: “At Disney we are committed to creating localised content to complement our global output and deepen the connection with our audience, so we’re delighted to be launching Club High School Musical: Make It Happen in the U.K. The show, which showcases the dedication and ingenuity of four U.K. kids faced with an incredible challenge, mirrors High School Musical’s positive themes of teamwork and friendship that have inspired kids around the world, and we are confident that this new series will do the same.”
