Discovery Offers Up New Herzog Doc

CANNES, April 6: Discovery Enterprises
International is offering up the international theatrical, television, home
video and DVD rights for the critically-acclaimed Discovery Films
feature-length documentary Encounters at
the End of the World
, written and directed by Werner
Herzog.

The 99-minute film offers the Grizzly Man and Rescue Dawn
filmmaker’s perspective on Antarctica, Earth’s
most remote continent, and the people who call it home. The film premiered at
the Toronto International Film Festival in September 2007 and will be released
in theaters in the U.S.
on June 11. Encounters at the End of the
World
, Herzog’s first theatrical documentary since Grizzly Man, was filmed entirely on location by Herzog and his
cameraman, Peter Zeitlinger.

and wonderful portrait of a mysterious world most of us will never have the

Encounters at the End
of the World
is a Creative Differences Production in association with
Discovery Films and Discovery Channel. The film was written, directed and
narrated by Werner Herzog. Via a partnership with Image, THINKFilm
oversees distribution of the documentary in the United States and Image
Entertainment handles all U.S. DVD and digital sales.
