SINGAPORE: Discovery Networks Asia-Pacific (DNAP) is taking its high-definition network to Thailand, inking a carriage deal with pay-TV platform TrueVisions.

Discovery HD World will be available to Gold and Platinum subscribers of TrueVisions’ HD pack for a monthly fee. Six DNAP channels are already airing in Thailand on TrueVisions: Discovery Channel, Animal Planet, TLC, Discovery Science, Discovery Home & Health and Discovery Turbo.

“The launch of Discovery HD World expands our portfolio offering in Thailand to seven networks,” said Tom Keaveny, the executive VP and managing director of Discovery Networks Asia-Pacific. “We are delighted to work with TrueVisions to provide viewers in Thailand with more compelling, entertaining television in true high-definition.”

Thiti Nantapatsiri, the managing director of TrueVisions, commented: "With the good reception to the launch of our TrueVisions HD service last year, we are now very excited to expand our HD channel offering to further differentiate our premium Platinum and Gold packages. Discovery HD World is part of a new and comprehensive HD lineup that offers world-class content in stunning high-definition and which is exclusive to TrueVisions. We are certain that our subscribers will welcome these new HD channels.”
