DISCOP Celebrates 15th Anniversary

LOS ANGELES/PARIS, May 25:
On June 20, DISCOP will celebrate 15 years of encouraging the growth of the
Central and Eastern European TV business with an opening night gala dinner in
Budapest that will feature Michael Garin, the CEO of Central European Media
Enterprises, in a one-on-one conversation with NATPE President and CEO Rick
Feldman.

Patrick Jucaud, the
general manager of DISCOP, noted: “The international TV content business in
Central and Eastern Europe has grown from a few hundred thousand dollars during
the Soviet days to several hundred millions of dollars in the 15 years since
the first DISCOP. It’s a pleasure to have Michael Garin as our guest of honor
in light of DISCOP’s long-standing relationship with CME’s television
stations.”

This year’s DISCOP, which
will take place at the Sofitel Atrium Hotel in Budapest, has sold out its
exhibition space and continues to accept non-exhibition and buyer
registrations. The market is anticipating some 900 buyers from throughout
Central and Eastern Europe and nearly 400 international TV content and formats
sales organizations have signed on to exhibit. Founded in 1991, DISCOP is the
only television content and formats market focused specifically on the Central
and Eastern European marketplace. After 15 years of operating independently,
DISCOP was acquired by NATPE in 2005.
