Diane Robina Joins TV Guide Network

LOS ANGELES: Diane Robina, the president of FEARnet, takes on the role of executive VP of development, acquisitions and programming strategy at TV Guide Network.

Robina continues her role at FEARnet while taking on responsibility at TV Guide Network for developing and implementing a programming strategy through a mix of acquisitions and the creation of original series and specials. She has already been instrumental in the acquisition of I Dreamed A Dream: The Susan Boyle Story, which became the network’s highest rated TV special in its history. Robina also played a key role in enabling TV Guide Network to secure the off-network rights to HBO’s hit comedy series Curb Your Enthusiasm, which will debut later this year.

In addition to roles at Nick at Nite, TV Land and TNN, Robina served as executive VP of acquisition strategies for MTV Networks, where she played a major role in launching new networks, including HA! (which became Comedy Central), Logo, Nick UK and Nick Germany.

“Diane’s passion for television combined with her wealth of experience in launching new networks make her a perfect fit for the position,” said Ryan O’Hara, the president of TV Guide Network and TVGuide.com. “Diane will play a critical role in helping build TV Guide Network into a place to watch the best and most entertaining shows on television.”

Robina added, “As a true television junkie, the TV Guide brand has had an incredible impact on my life. Now to have the opportunity to evolve the brand in today’s television landscape is a true dream job. The TV Guide name has incredible brand awareness and appeal. My year one strategy at TV Guide is to produce brand defining specials such as the recent Susan Boyle event, acquire key series such as Curb Your Enthusiasm, and secure the rights to a mix of movies that play well to true TV and pop-culture fans.”
