SANTA MONICA: The Japanese series The Little Battlers eXperience (LBX) is to launch in North, Central and South America via Dentsu Entertainment USA.

The animation series, which has a successful toy, video game and comic franchise in Japan, known as Danball Senki, is getting an American treatment.

The series is co-produced by the video game company and series creator LEVEL-5, TV Tokyo and Dentsu Inc. with merchandise produced by Bandai, Shogakukan and Media Factory, and animation studio OLM (Pokémon, Deltora Quest). It currently airs on the TV Tokyo Network.

The story is about children in the year 2050 that have miniature LBX robots, which they customize and battle with.

“The LBX project in Japan is a perfect example of how Dentsu Entertainment USA’s strategy functions in Western markets,” said Yuma Sakata, the president and CEO of Dentsu Entertainment USA. “The LBX content in Japan was creative and relevant for the audience, and the coordinated launch by multiple partners was perfectly executed. Here in the Americas, as we begin our work with ‘Western’ talent and licensing partners, we have every indication that LBX will receive the same enthusiastic reception.”

Kiyofumi Kajiwara, the producer of Danball Senki, commented, “Danball Senki has generated great success in Japan, and we are excited to have Dentsu Entertainment USA manage the business with LEVEL-5 in the Americas, and make it an equally big success.”
