Deals Closed on Concert for Diana

LONDON, April 4: The upcoming Concert for Diana, set for
July 1 at Wembley Stadium, is expected to reach 500 million homes worldwide,
with Grand Entertainment, which is handling the TV rights, notching up slots
with a host of broadcasters, among them NBC in the U.S., CTV in Canada,
Televisa in Mexico and Nine Network in Australia.

The concert, organized by Prime William and Prince Harry,
will air in the U.K. on BBC One. Artists confirmed to appear include Elton
John, Joss Stone, Pharrell Williams, Bryan Ferry and Duran Duran. It has
secured deals in 140 territories. The broadcasters on board include NBC (for a
highlights show) and VH1 (live coverage) in the U.S., RTL II Germany, Canal
Satellite Digital in Spain, Televisa in Mexico, Foxtel and Nine Network in
Australia, CTV in Canada, TV2 Denmark, Netherlands Public Broadcasting (NOS),
Norway’s TV2, Brazil’s TV Bandeirantes, STAR in Asia, M-Net in South Africa,
and Acasa TV in Romania.

Steve Sterling, from Grand Entertainment, who has been
brokering the TV sales on behalf of the concert’s organizers, noted: “It’s rare
