David Lyle Named CEO of Nat Geo Channels U.S. & Global Programming

WASHINGTON, D.C.: David Lyle, who previously served as president of Fox LOOK and president of FremantleMedia North America, has been named CEO of National Geographic Channels U.S. and global programming.

Lyle has been working with National Geographic management as the head of West Coast development for several months. In his new role, Lyle is responsible for the domestic channels—National Geographic Channel, Nat Geo WILD and Nat Geo Mundo. Lyle will be based in Washington, D.C. He will report to the National Geographic Channels board. Steve Schiffman, National Geographic Channels’ president, will report to Lyle.

Previously, Lyle was the president of Fox LOOK and the Fox Reality Channel. Prior to joining Fox he held several senior roles at companies such as FremantleMedia, Pearson Television and Nine Network in Australia.
