CSI Drives Gains at Alliance Atlantis

TORONTO, August 11: The CSI franchise continues to be a
solid performer for Alliance Atlantis Communications, which today reported
second quarter revenues of C$253.2 million, a 5 percent gain on last year, with
profit doubling to C$26 million.

"We are exceptionally pleased with the performance of
the CSI franchise, which continues to enjoy ratings successes in the U.S. and
international markets," said Phyllis Yaffe, the CEO of Alliance Atlantis.
"Subsequent to the end of the quarter, we announced the sale of certain
international second window rights for a total value of US$250 million. These
sales demonstrate the strong interest in the re-licensing of CSI around the
world."

In the Entertainment segment, CSI revenue of C$84.7 million
was up 28 percent from the prior year's quarter. The remainder of the
entertainment segment, consisting of TV sales on other titles, however, saw
revenues fall from C$12.8 million to C$9.4 million.

Broadcasting revenue of C$76.8 million represented an
increase of 6 percent over the prior year's quarter. Total advertising revenue
increased by 3 percent, and total subscriber revenue grew 11 percent.

Motion Picture Distribution revenue of C$82.3 million was
down 7 percent from C$88.4 million in the prior year's period due to a smaller
slate of theatrical and DVD releases, partially offset by strong television
sales.
