Crime Investigation Australia Delivers for Nine

SYDNEY, August 20: The prime-time premiere of Southern
Star’s Crime Investigation Australia on
August 14 on Australian free-to-air broadcaster Nine Network captured a
34-percent average all-audience market share against the U.S. drama Numb3rs
and the British series Life
Begins.

The 16×1-hour crime series first aired on the pay-TV channel
Crime & Investigation Network (CI) in 2006. Southern Star International
distributes the series and plans to launch it at MIPCOM in October.

Produced by Foxtel, Crime Investigation Australia revisits crimes that have shocked Australia and
attempts to uncover the true and untold stories behind them. Among the crimes
covered in the series include “Ivan Milat: The Backpacker Murders,” the brutal
murders of seven young backpackers which made international headlines and led
to the arrest and conviction of Ivan Milat, who now has a reputation as
Australia’s worst individual serial killer, and “The Anita Cobby Murder,” the
story behind the disturbing murder of a nurse.
