Coolabi Acquires Indie Kids

LONDON, September 28: Coolabi, the TV production and
licensing company behind King Arthur’s Disasters and Sir Gadabout, among
others, has reached a deal to acquire the production outfit Indie Kids for an
undisclosed sum.

Indie Kids is responsible for such
shows as The Large Family and Fungus
The Bogeyman for CBBC and The Worst
Witch for CiTV. Going forward, all Indie
Kids commissions and formats will be produced by Coolabi. Dan Maddicott, Indie
Kids’ co-founder and creative director, will be joining Coolabi as an executive
producer, reporting to Coolabi’s head of children’s programming, Julian Scott.

“Indie Kids has a fantastic slate of children’s formats which
fit brilliantly alongside existing Coolabi programming,” Scott said. “I am
hugely excited about working with Dan on both new and existing formats.”
