Content Sells Rights for The Day

LOS ANGELES/LONDON: The rights for Content Media’s post-apocalyptic war thriller film The Day have been secured by Entertainment One for the U.K., France, Scandinavia and South Africa.

The Day, directed by Doug Aarniokoski, written by Luke Passmore and produced by Guy A. Danella (The Fourth Kind), was also bought by Japan’s Nettai Museum. Content represents the international rights and Kevin Iwashina of Preferred Content handles North American rights. Splendid has bought the German-speaking Europe and Benelux rights.

The Day stars Shawn Ashmore (X-Men trilogy), Ashley Bell (The Last Exorcism), Michael Eklund (The Divide), Cory Hardrict (Battle Los Angeles, Gran Torino), Dominic Monaghan (The Lord of the Rings, Lost) and Shannyn Sossamon (A Knight’s Tale, Rules of Attraction, 40 Days and 40 Nights). Set during a war against humanity, five survivors must fight or die.
