Contender Scores New Sales for It's a Big Big World

LONDON, November 26:
Contender Entertainment Group has sold the puppet- and animation-based kids'
show It's a Big Big World into four
new territories.

The
show has now secured slots on DR in Denmark, YLE in Finland, Canal+ Cyfrowy in
Poland and Al Jazeera Kids in the Middle East. The
broadcasters have already begun dubbing It's
a Big Big World
into Danish, Finnish, Polish and Arabic. They expect to
launch the first 40×30-minutes series of the show in their respective
territories in 2009.

Lisa Marriott, the
international sales executive for Contender Entertainment Group, said: "We
are delighted to be able to continue our strong relationship with DR and YLE with this new title and to establish new links
with Canal+
Cyfrowy and Al Jazeera Kids Channel,
two strong players in their respective markets."

Muriel Thomas, Contender's
head of international sales and co-production, added: "These sales in four
very different markets are proof of the universal appeal of It's a Big Big World. It is a show that has enormous appeal and
charm in its own right but is also focused on the environment—an issue
high on everyone's agenda—and on helping children to discover the world
around them. It's a Big Big World is
clearly a strong property with enormous potential."
