CBS to Offer Programming for the iPad

NEW YORK: A host of content from CBS, including streaming video from hit shows such as How I Met Your Mother and The Good Wife, is available for the Apple iPad.

Clips from shows like Young and the Restless, Two and a Half Men, CSI, Undercover Boss, The Late Show with David Letterman, as well as the most recent full episodes of Survivor, are available on the iPad. There’s also a variety of video from CNET available that covers technology news, reviews and how-to.

CBS is has a new custom Radio.com app for the iPad that features programming from CBS RADIO and streaming partners such as Yahoo! music, along with Last.fm’s scrobbling technology, artist pages, photo galleries, charts and event listings. The library of more than 7,000 eBook titles from Simon & Schuster is being sold through the iBooks store on iPad as well. In addition, Simon & Schuster iPhone apps will be immediately available on the iPad.

"It was important for us to have content available for the iPad at launch, and it will be important to continue to develop new content as the device goes mainstream," said Neil Ashe, the president at CBS Interactive. "Doing so is consistent with CBS’s larger strategy to put our content on the best available screen, with the best available business model. We look forward to improving and expanding our offerings for the iPad in the months to come."
