CBS, DIC, AG Unveil New Schedule for Rebranded Block

NEW YORK, August 23: This
September, the Saturday morning kids’ block on CBS relaunches as KEWLopolis
on CBS
with content from DIC
Entertainment and American Greetings Properties (AGP).

Premiering on Saturday,
September 15, the three-hour programming block (currently airing as KOL
Secret Slumber Party on CBS
) will
air from 7 a.m. through 10 a.m., and be comprised of six shows. The new
programs airing on the block include Care Bears: Adventures in Care-A-Lot, about a group of colorful bears who live in the
cloud world of Care-a-lot; Sushi Pack, which follows five crime-fighting pieces of sushi that protect Wharf
City from diabolical villains; Dino Squad, about five quirky teens who suddenly gain the power to transform
into dinosaurs; and Strawberry Shortcake, following the adventures of Strawberry Shortcake and her friends in
Strawberryland. The slate also includes returning shows like the live-action
series Cake, about a
13-year-old girl who hosts a cable access show with her three best friends; Horseland, following the animated adventures of four friends
who are competitive riders and their horses; Sabrina, an animated companion series to Sabrina: The
Teenage Witch
; and Trollz, about the everyday life of young teens.

Care Bears: Adventures
in Care-A-Lot
and Strawberry
Shortcake
will kick off the first
hour of the block at 7 a.m. Cake
and Horseland will comprise the
second hour, and Sabrina and Trollz will be moved to the third hour until November 3,
at which time those two shows will be replaced with Sushi Pack and Dino Squad.

The KEWLopolis block will also feature animated interstitials
with “TinPo” characters, showcasing themes such as identifying problems and
exploring solutions, overcoming adversity, the value of teamwork and seeing
things from a different perspective. In addition, a web destination and
official site, www.KEWLopolis.com, is being created for the launch of the
block, which will tie into all of the programming airing on the Saturday
morning linear block. Targeted at kids aged 6 to 12, the online community is a
portal to individual series websites, and will also feature programming
information, games, polls, news and more.
