CBC International Sales Racks Up Deals for New Princess Diana Doc

TORONTO, July 19: CBC International Sales has secured a
range of broadcast deals for Requiem for a Princess, a documentary that is based on the book Lady
Died
by Francis Gillery and offers a
behind-the-scenes look at the death of Princess Diana.

The one-hour documentary has sold to free-TV broadcasters
such as TV2 in Denmark, SF DRS in Switzerland and VRT in Belgium. It is
available in HD in English and French or as a 90-minute special in French only.
Requiem for a Princess is a
co-production between Artline Films in Paris and France 3. Produced by Olivier
Mille, the documentary attempts to distill the inconsistencies of the official
French and British inquiries into Princess Diana’s death, and offer a new
theory behind the incident. It features exclusive interviews with witnesses to
the drama, scientific and legal experts and renowned journalists. There are
also revelations from MI5 and CIA agents, arms dealers and criminologists.

“I am proud that we successfully acquired the distribution
rights to arguably the most intriguing, authoritative, and insightful program
to mark the decade since the fatal crash in Paris,” commented Johanna Samuel,
the director of CBC International Sales.
