Cartoon Network Names Chief Content Officer

ATLANTA, November 5: AMC’s programming chief Robert Sorcher
is joining Cartoon Network in January as chief content officer, reporting to
Stuart Snyder, the executive VP and COO for Turner Broadcasting System’s
animation, young adults and kids’ media group.

Based in Los Angeles, Sorcher will be responsible for
driving the network’s overall content development strategy, including original
series, acquisitions, long form and special events. Along with managing the
team of content executives, he will also oversee production and Cartoon Network
Studios in Burbank, California. He joins Cartoon Network from AMC, where he is
currently executive VP of programming and production. He previously held senior
programming roles at USA Network and Fox Family Channel. Earlier in his career,
Sorcher worked at Cartoon Network as senior VP and then executive VP,
overseeing creative direction and strategy and managing CartoonNetwork.com.
