HYDERABAD: DQ Entertainment International has announced broadcast deals with BBC in the U.K. and TVO in Canada for its 52×11-minute 3-D CGI series The Jungle Book.

The show, budgeted at 9.2 million euros, is due to be delivered to networks by year’s end. It is a DQ co-production with ZDF, ZDF Enterprises, TF1 and Moonscoop. Steven Andrew, the head of CBBC drama and acquisitions, said the series would be a "brilliant adventure for 5- to 8-year-olds. The world of the jungle is looking glorious in the series and will reintroduce this brand to a generation who might not know of this fabulous story."

The Jungle Book is a beautifully animated adaptation of the classic Rudyard Kipling stories, and is a wonderful complement to our lineup of shows which encourage kids to learn and discover new things—all while having fun,” said Frances James of TVO acquisitions, children’s media content and programming. “We are looking forward to premiering the series in the TVOKids schedule this fall and expect it will be a big hit with our viewers.”
