What are some of your top properties for MIPCOM?

We are launching Angelo Rules at MIP Junior, CAKE’s second co-production with TeamTO in Paris for France Television, following Hareport for TF1, which we launched at MIPTV. We will also be taking down the first episodes of Total Drama The Musical from Fresh TV for Teletoon Canada.

Why will these programs appeal to buyers?

Both Angelo Rules and Hareport are state-of-the-art European content CG animation, but with U.S. voice talent and script editing which combine to create compelling comedy action series for 6- to 9-year-olds.

Total Drama The Musical is the third in a series giving us a total of 78 half-hours available with great international ratings information for buyers from the first two, especially from Cartoon Network in the U.S.

What are some of the trends you’re currently seeing in this market?

As budgets tighten, buyers are pre-buying and co-producing less, but buying more on the security of early episodes, avoiding long years of amortising unsuccessful shows.

What are your goals and expectations MIPCOM?

We hope that by assuming the risk on completing the finance for our new co-productions and acquisitions that we can help keep up the momentum of these projects and create clearer opportunities for the buyers.

Is there any other information you would like to share regarding your plans for MIPCOM?

We will announce further exciting news about our expansion into live-action series for children beyond our recent co-production announcement with GalaKids on Cartoon Gene.
