C4 Online Show Secures Film4 Commission

LONDON, August 10: Movie
Rush
, the film review show
developed for Channel 4’s website, has been re-commissioned for launch on
Film4.

Channel 4 New Media,
working with Film4, has commissioned content production agency Zone to produce
a TV version of the online program. Zone will produce two versions of each
program, one lasting five minutes and one lasting ten. Each show will review up
to five of the latest cinema and DVD releases. The first full-length Movie
Rush
will be screened on Film4 on
August 12 in between Hitchcock's The Trouble With Harry and Studio Ghibli's My Neighbour Totoro. The show will be premiered online 24 hours before
its Film4 broadcast and, in the future, will also be available on Channel 4’s
mobile TV channel and on iTunes.

“This is the first time an
online show has been commissioned for broadcast on one of Channel 4’s main
channels and demonstrates the huge potential for quality online video content,”
said Dominic Eames, the editor of Channel4.com. “The irreverent tone and slick
production values of Movie Rush
will sit beautifully in the Film4 schedule and is the perfect way for viewers
to catch up on the latest film and DVD releases.”
