C4, E4 Commission Second Season of 3DD’s Album Chart Show

LONDON, July 6: 3DD Productions
has received a commission from Channel 4 and E4 for a second season of The Album
Chart Show
for a fall 2006 launch.

3DD will produce another
20-week run of the show, with each 30-minute episode featuring live
performances from major acts performing songs from their latest albums, in
addition to artist interviews and the Top 20 U.K. Album Chart rundown. The
first series of The Album Chart Show ends its run in the middle of this month.

The second series will
debut in a Friday evening slot on C4, prior to going out E4 on Saturday
afternoons and having a second C4 airing over the weekend.

Neil McCallum, C4’s
commissioning editor for music, noted, “It's great that at a time when so many other music
shows are being axed or in decline, that Channel 4 is continuing with it's
commitment to music and re-commissioning a second series of The Album Chart
Show
.
We've been delighted with the level of talent that have chosen to showcase
their latest releases in front of a live audience each week at KOKO. This
series we've seen established artists such as Morrissey, Primal Scream and The
Streets come onboard and showcase exclusive album tracks, as well as newer acts
such as The Automatic, The Feeling and Archie Bronson Outfit perform songs from
their debut albums. The Album Chart Show has been a huge success and we look
forward to further developing it over its next 20 week run."

Andrew Higgie, MD at 3DD
Productions, added, “The idea behind The Album Chart Show was to reflect the current appetite for quality, diverse,
live music across the U.K. and beyond, driven very much by the digital
revolution. It’s wonderful that Channel 4 has embraced the concept for a second
series and 3DD looks forward to delivering more of the world’s best music.”
